We know the exact date of the game because one of the participants commissioned a photographer to capture an image of the players. A photo of El Caracas Base Ball Club appeared in the August 15, 1895, edition of a local publication, El Cojo Ilustrado. A note on the origins of baseball in the United States and an explanation of how it was played accompanied the photo."</p>
