Wright's Grove was on North Clark Street, between North Broadway and Diversey. It was the site of the Civil War Camp Fry, a training camp for Union soldiers. The location was then in Lake View, which was annexed by Chicago in 1889.

It was a popular spot to play in 1867. On Aug. 21, 1867, the Chicago 2nd nine defeated the Alpha Club 41-21 there.
