Description | The Nashville Daily Press and Times reported on May 14, 1866 the result of the "the first game of the kind played in Nashville" (and probably in Tennessee). The Cumberland Club defeated the Rock City handily, 66-15. Both clubs had been formed the previous month. Nashville's population was about 19,000 in 1860 and about 26,000 in 1870. |
