Description | The Caldwell Tribune, March 10, 1889, reported "The base ball club will be organized. With professionals like King, Maskrey, Logue, Beaty and Sebree, it will be a hummer." First notice of a game is in the Caldwell Tribune, Sept. 13, 1890, reporting that "last Sunday" Caldwell lost to Weiser 17-7. Same Aug. 29, 1891 says that the Caldwell club won the "base ball champion belt last year." Silver City "Idaho Avalanche," June 18, 1892, claims Caldwell's baseball nine has the best athletes in the state, with "the finest grounds of any in the state." Caldwell was founded in 1883, and incorporated in 1890. |
