Text | [Eagle vs. Pastime 9/2/1859] ...a match was played between the Eagle Club of New York and the Pastime Club, of Brooklyn, at the Elysian Fields, Hoboken, which resulted for the first time this season in a conquest for New York. Hie de doodle do! ... It was a great day for Hoboken–Friday last; and never was a club more courteously treated and well beloved by their conquerors, than was the Pastime.
