If the fellow gets hit in the “centre” with a swift ball, is his breath allowed to take a “short stop?” If a fellow expects his Dulcinea to be present, and she doesn’t come, can the poor fellow be “put out” about her? In case of a free fight would a player be allowed to use a brick “bat?” If a player has “struck out” for home with the girls does the scorer put it down? Suppose a player accidentally hits one of the “dear little ducks” who witness the game, would it not be a “fowl ball?” How much beer will the “pitcher” of a base ball club hold?
