The Chicago Tribune, May 21, 1859, has notice of a meeting that day of the Columbia Base Ball Club. S. F. White, President; Wm. Merrill, VP; John Gillespie, Secy. The Chicago Tribune Aug. 9, 1860 says their grounds are at the corner of Canal and Mitchell Sts., opposite to the Gillies House.
