Text	It is all very well to say that neither side will ever yield, and that it is a fight to a finish, but when it is seriously considered what a fight to a finish means, one is inclined to doubt very much that there will ever be a finish in the sense that one organization will be complete driven out of business. The settlement of the war will eventually be made by the capitalists. The players will have very little to do with it, except in the case of a few who have invested some money in the scheme, hence the idea of an amalgamation, which no doubt would be against the best interests of the non-stockholding players, is not so chimerical as it may appear. Indeed, there are some good authorities on the game who believe that an amalgamation is the only course that can be taken that will continue professional base ball as a profitable investment. Those who hold this view are, however, extremists., quoting the Chicago Tribune
