Data | “Base-ball” and rounders were played by some of the many visitors to a day-long event in Seer Green, a village in south Buckinghamshire, an event that was primarily focused on an exhibition of flowers, vegetables, needlework and knitting. A newspaper reported that “Cricket, base-ball and rounders, and other games were freely indulged in during the afternoon, while later in the evening a successful series of athletic sports were carried out.” |
