Description

Utica 42

Knickerbocker (Albany) 36

(New York Clipper: “A very large assemblage of ladies and gentlemen gathered around the base ball grounds … to witness the match fly-game ….  The fly-game is a specialty with the Knickerbockers, and they are also considered one of the best clubs in the state.  …  Mosher, of that city [Utica], won a fine red regulation cap, which was offered by the Knickerbockers to the best Utica player.  The umpire was J. B. Leggett, of the Excelsior club, Brooklyn.  …  After the game, the United clubs had a good supper at Bagg’s Hotel.”)
