The Daily Missouri Democrat (of St. Louis), Oct. 8, 1860 reports that the Union will play the Lone Star today, on the Empire Club grounds. Same June 25, 1868 says the Union Club was formed in 1859 by high schoolers. Asa W. Smith was the first president.
