Text | We noticed that the umpire–who gave excellent decisions as a general thing, erred in giving men out on the base when the ball was held simultaneously with the player’s puttin ghis foot on the base. Now the rule in each case requires, that if the ball be not held before the player reaches the bases, the latter is not out. |
