Text | The veteran Knickerbocker club, of New York, the oldest of the base ball organizations, have officially withdrawn from the National Association. Should other amateur clubs follow this lead, it is questionable whether there will be any meeting of the National Association as heretofore organized this next Fall. Whether this is the inaugural movement for the ultimate organization of a strictly amateur association, we know not, but it has a look that way. It would be greatly to the interests of the amateurs if this was to be the end and aim of the movement. |
