Text | The same rules of conduct that guided them [the Excelsiors] on their last tour will be adopted on this. They will pay their entire expenses. No liquor is to be used by the members, and no public bar-room will be patronized by them during their absence. It is by such rules, and such only, that health and true pleasure can be secured on their tour, and the credit of the club, as an association of gentlemanly ball-players, sustained. They have our heartiest wishes for the success we well know they will merit, if not obtain. |
