Text | [describing improvements to the Boston ground] ...a high, open fence with fine wire netting below and a coarser one above has been erected. This wire netting is an experiment and may be replaced by some other material if found to be unsuitable for the purpose of a back stop. As it is now, it seems almost as if a very hot ball would go clean through it, if it hit it squarely without having had its force broken in any way; but the idea is a good one at all events and the present arrangement is a great improvement on the old condition of things. |
