Description

The Irish Times, Nov. 30 and Dec, 5, 1881 report on a game of "base ball" played Dec. 3 by members of the "Leinster Hurley and Base Ball Club."

Dr. S. H. Webb is mentioned as heading one of the nines. Samuel H. Webb (1843-93) died in Dublin. He was an old cricketeer. Hurley is a south Ireland bat-ball game.
