Description

The Olympic Base Ball Club of Syracuse announced its formation and officers, apparently becoming Syracuse's third club after the 1858 Syracuse BBC and the May 1859 Salt Point Club.

"This is a new Club, composed entirely of unmarried young men, organized for the purpose of playing the noble and healthful game of Base Ball, which has recently come so much in vogue in our city."

The baseball clippings collection of the Onondaga Hist Assn adverts to 5 Olympic games played in 1859 and one in 1860. They played the SyrBBC twice and the Chittenango club twice.

Win/Loss Records As Far As We Now Know

Warning: Users should not rely on a team's won-loss record as a reflection of its "standing" among all base ball clubs. Team schedules were not balanced, and a good record against mostly weak opponents does not signify a leading club.
